People have asked me how I can show my personality on my website.  I think the best way is by accounting the sum of life's experiences.  I would start with:

I have lived in North Carolina, Virginia, The Colorado Rockies, The New Hampshire Woods, The Florida Keys, Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens New York, and for brief spells in France and Italy- and now, The ATX.

I love tennis.  I have spent the majority of my life involved in tennis as a student of the game, a player, and a coach.  Most of my best friends in life came through my tennis connection.  But it doesn't define my life.

I have a fine arts degree in design, which required training akin to a minor in art history and studio art.  I'm a visual artist....a painter...a photographer...a writer..I've been an actor on both stage and film- I know a little too much about the world of professional theatre and dance, and about wine.

I'm a good  cook and a dedicated nutrition and healthy eating advocate.

I am a rabid fan of : soccer (especially the european variety) Leeds United, Liverpool FC, Anthony Bourdain, Inspector Morse, the people, places and culture of Yorkshire, the New York Giants, and the Houston Texans.

I am musical and adore nearly all kinds of music.  I equally love the opera, punk, classical, jazz, cajun, alternative, country, and salsa. I have become a devotee of chill and ambient music, and my kids have even taught me a little bit about hip-hop. I play some percussion and the guitar, and am currently studying the fiddle.  I have performed in Rock bands, Jazz bands, and Irish Marching Bagpipe bands.

I recently discovered yoga and find it magical in it's combination of the mind-body connection, and I love to hit the gym and push the steel.

Among the most formative experiences of my life include:

Growing up with two Peruvians and becoming fluent in Spanish, and understanding the Latin culture even a little bit.

Being part of the 9-11 rescue effort at Ground Zero

Being a child of divorce and experiencing relationship issues and their aftermath as a son, a brother, and eventually as a husband and father.

Eulogizing my friend and co-worker who left us way too young, and eulogizing both of my parents

Being the son of a liberal physicist and the brother of a conservative engineer

I have endured medical woes from knee surgeries to open heart surgery and, have watched my mother battle cancer - twice

I spend every Thanksgiving cooking for hundreds of homeless and shut-in.

But above all else is the experience of being a Dad to 3 amazing kids, and a husband of 27 years to a recent Irish immigrant who doubles as the World's Greatest Mom;  And being adopted by my two Irish in-laws, who couldn't possibly love me more or treat me better than if they had sired me themselves.

I am who I am from time I spent in the Art World, seeing how people see the world, and how we as artists learn to see.

I have luckily enjoyed very widespread and extensive travel, understanding different people, different cultures, and discovering the overwhelming reality that we are all a lot more similar than we are different.
